account thereof hereto annexed may appear and so being thereof Indebted on consideration thereof
to witt the day and year first above mentioned at the County af.d upon himself did assume and to
the said Samuel then and there faithfully promise that he the said W.m the said twenty two
pounds six shillings and nine pence half penny Curr.t money of Maryland when afterwards
he should be thereto required well and faithfully he would pay and Content and altho' the said W.m
hath paid since that time to the said Samuel the sum of thirteen shillings and three pence of
like money  Nevertheless as to twenty one pounds thirteen shillings and six pence half penny
like money af.d Residue of the said twenty two pound six Shilling and nine pence half penny
Curr.t money of Maryland the said William his promise and assumption af.d in form af.d made
nothing regarding but minding and fraudulently intending the said Samuel in that part craftily
and Subtilly to deceive and defraud the said twenty one pounds thirteen shillings and six pence
half penny Curr.t money af.d Residue of the said twenty two pounds six shillings and nine pen
pence half penny Curr.t money of Maryland to the said Samuel hitherto hath not paid or
him for the same or any part thereof in no sort Contented but the same to him to pay hath altogether
refused and still doth refuse altho' the same to him to pay afterwards to witt the thirtyeth
day of October in the year af.d at the County af.d and often afterwards by the said Samuel
the said W.m was required whereupon the said Samuel say he is damnifyed forty three
pounds Curr.t money of Maryland and thereof he brings suit &c      Pledges &c Jno Doe & R Roe
