And Whereupon the said John by Geo Douglas his attrny says that whereas the
said William on the first day of march Anno Dom MDCXXXVI at the County
af.d by his certain writing obligatory which the af.d John sealed with the seals of the said W.m
hereinto Court brings whose date is the day and year af.d did acknowledge himself to be held
and firmly bound unto the said John in the sum of fifty and five pounds Curr.t money of
Maryland and five thousand pounds of tobacco to be paid to the said John Dennis his heirs
Ex.rs adm.rs or assignes when he should be afterwards thereto required  Nevertheless
the said William the said fifty five pounds Curr.t money af.d and five thousand pounds
of tobacco to the said John hitherto hath not rendred but the same to him to render hitherto
hath denyed and still doth deny and unjustly detain altho thereto afterwards to witt
on the twenty ninth day of March Anno Dom MDCCXXXXVij at the County af.d
and often since that time by the said John Dennis is required whereupon the said
John says he is damnifyed sixty pounds Curr.t money of Maryland and six thousand
pounds of tobacco and thereof he brings suit &c       Pledges &.c Jno Doe & R Roe

    And the aforesaid WIlliam Bowen by Robert Jenckins Henry his attorney Cometh & defendeth the
force and Injury when &.c and saith that he Cannot deny the action afd of the afd John Dennis Jun.r
nor but that the writing obligatory afd is the deed of the Same William Bowen nor but that he oweth
the Same John Dennis the afd fifty five pounds Curr.t Money of Maryland and five thousand pounds
of tobacco in manner & form as the afd John above against him hath Complained declared

       Therefore it is Considered that the afd John Dennis Jun.r Recover against the afd William
Bowen his debt afd and his damages Sustained by Occasion of the detaining of the Same debt to three
hundred and One pounds of tobacco to the Same John Dennis Jun.r of his assent by the Court
here adjudged & the afd deft in Mercy &c

should take William Phillips Late of Somerset County planter if he
Should be found in his baily wick and him should safe keep so that he might
have his body before the Justices of his Lordships County Court of Somerset to be held in the
