64 Somerset County ss By Virtue of the Commission here unto annexed to us directed wee whose names are here under writt being first duely qualified as the Law directs after due notice given did on the third day of may one thousand seven hundred and thirty Six meet on the aforesaid Land Called the Golden Lyon and then and there took ye depossitions above mentioned in the presence of both parties In Wittness whereof wee have hereunto sett our hands and seals the day and year first above written Francis Allen John Sheldon
to be our Commissions to Examine evidences on behalf of a Certain George Layfield of the County af.d in Relation to the bounds of a tract of Land Called Credwell Lying on the seaboard side in the County af.d We therefore Require you or any three or two of you at some time and place as to you or any three or two of you shall seem Convenient you meet on the af.d Land Called Credwell (You first having taken your oath on the holy evangelist of almighty God according to Act of assembly in such case made and provided) and there cause to come before you or any three or two of you all such evidences as shall be to your or any two of you Nominated by the said Complainant or defendant if any and that you or any three or two of you examine them upon their Corporall Oaths to be by you or any three or two of you administred on the holy Evangelist of Almighty God in the presence of the Complainant or defend.t if any touching the truth or remembrance of their knowledge or any thing that may relate to the Cause afd and that reduceing the severall depositions into writing you send the same together with this Commission under your or any three or two of your hands and Seals to us to Our County Court of Somerset with all Convenient speed wittness Robert King Gent Chiefe Justice of Our said Court the ninteenth day of March ann Dom one thousand seven hundred & thirty Six afterwards to witt the Twenty first day of June anno Dom one thousand seven hundred & thirty Seven Came here into Court Edward Rownd and James Rownd two of the Gent Mentioned in the above Commission and made return thereof to the Court here Endorsed with the following depositions thereunto annexed viz.t May ye 28.th 1737 Came Edward Rownd before me one of his Lordships Justices of the peace and was qualified to Execute the within Commission by me and also James Rownd in manner and form above said qualified by me Cha Rackliffe In Obedience to a precept here unto annexed directed to Edward Rownd James Rownd William Simpson and |
