54 have her body before the Justices of His Lordships County Court of Somerset to be held in the Court house at dividing Creek the third tuesday of June Anno Dom one thousand seven hundred and thirty seven to answer unto his said Lordship &c And afterwards to witt the said third Tuesday of June ann Dom One thousand seven hundred and thirty Seven the Same term before the Justices of his Lordships Justices at dividing Creek afd Came the afd Sarah Thompson in her proper person and had a hearing of the Indictment afd and saith that she Cannot deny but that She is Guilty of the premisses afd in the Indictment Specified in manner and form as by the Indictment aforesaid above against her Supposed and the premisses afd In the Indictment afd Expressly acknowledgeth and makes oath that a Certain James Cane is the Begett^er^ of the Child she stands Indicted for and puts herselfe thereof in mercy of his Lordship Whereupon all and Singular the premisses being seen and by the Court here fully understood It is Considered that the afd Sarah Thompson pay unto his Lordship the right honrble the Lord Proprietary for her fine by the Court hereupon her imposed for and by Occasion of the premisses afd whereof in form afd She is Convicted thirty Shillings Curr.t Money of Maryland (to the use of the County afd) and that the said Sarah Thompson be taken to Satisfie her said Lordship of the fine afd &c Whereupon the said Sarah Thompson is ordered to Give security to save and keep Endempnified the Justices of Somerset County and their Successors from all Costs Charges and Burthens that Might accrew by means of the birth of the Child afd &c Thereupon the said Sarah Thompson with Patrick Daley and John Wheeler both of Somerset County planters her securitys all present herein Court in their proper persons acknowledged themselves Indebted unto his Lordship the right honrble the Lord Proprietary of the province of Maryland in the full & Just Sum of thirty pounds Sterling good and Lawfull money of England of their bodys goods or Chattells Lands or tenements Joyntly and Severally to be made and Levied to the Use of the Justices of the County afd and their Successors If it happen that the said Sarah Thompson her heirs Executors or administrators or any of them do and shall not from time to time and at all times hereafter acquitt discharge and save harmless as well the Justices of Somerset County afd and their Successors for ^the^ time being as also the Inhabitants of the said County of and from all Costs Charges troubles and Incumbrances whatsoever for or by reason of the birth maintainance nourishing and bringing up of the said Child and of and from all Other Suits Charges troubles and demands whatsoever touching or Concerning of the Same &c Likewise the said Sarah Thompson is ordered to give Security for the payment of their Severall Officers their Fee or (as due by means of the Indictment afd &c Thereupon the said Sarah Thompson with the afd Patrick Daley and Isaac Wheeler all her securitys |
