County Gent present herein Court undertakes for the said Hannah Bartlett and acknowledged himselfe Indebted
unto his Lordship the Lord Proprietary in the Sum of five hundred pounds of tobacco of his body goods or
Chattles Lands and tenements to be made & Levied to the Use of the Severall Officers belonging to Somerset
County Court that hath a right to any Fee or Fees on the Indictment afd by means of the premisses afd  In Case
the said Hannah Bartlett shall ^& doe^ not pay & satisfie unto the Severall Officers afd their Fee or Fees as afd by
Occasion of the premisses afd &c   Likewise the said Hannah Bartlett is ordered to give security for to Save &
Keep Indempnified the Justices of Somerset County & their Successors from all Costs Charges & burthens that
might accrue by means of the bi^r^th of the Child afd &c

          Whereupon the afd William Turpin present here in Court as afd undertook for the said Hannah Bartlett
and acknowledged himselfe Indebted unto his Lordship the Lord Proprietary of the province of Maryland in
the Sum of forty pounds sterling of his goods and Chattells Lands and tenements to the Use of the ^Justices of the^ County of
Somerset & their Successors to be made and Levied   If it happen that the said Hannah Bartlett her heirs
Executors or administrators or any of them do & shall not from time to time and at all times hereafter
[illegible] discharge and Save harmless as well the Justices of Somerset County afd and their Successors
[illegible] being as also the Inhabitants of the said County of and from all Costs Charges and troubles
[illegible] for or by reason of the birth maintainance nourishing and bringing up of the said Child & of
[illegible] Suites, Charges, troubles and demands whatsoever touching or Concerning of the same &a

Somerset County sst  Be it remembred that William Goldsborough Gen.t [illegible]
[illegible] Right Honourable the Lord proprietary that now is who for the same
[illegible] in this part prosecuteth doth come here into the County Court
of the Lord proprietary he for Somerset County af.d to wit at dividing
Creek in the County af.d the fifteenth day of March Anno Dom seventeen hundred thirty and
six before John Smith Esq.r and his associates the said Lord proprietary his Justices of the same
County Court and for the same Lord proprietary doth give [illegible] Justices here to understand
and be Informed that James Anderson late of Somerset County af.d planter the
last day of June Anno Dom seventeen hundred thirty [illegible] parish af.d in the County
af.d and within the Jurisdiction of this Court in a [illegible] Negroe Jemmy the slave of
George Gale of the same County Gen.t in the peace ^of God and^ [illegible] proprietary then and there
being with force and Arms an assault did make [illegible] Jemmy then and there
did beat wound and evilly treat so that of his life it was [illegible] other harms to
him then and there did to the great damage of the same Negro [illegible] against the peace
of the said Lord proprietary that now is his good Rule [illegible]    Whereupon
the same attorney of the said Lord proprietary for the [illegible] prayeth the
advice of the Court here in the premises and [illegible] against the
af.d James Anderson may be made to answer   upon the premisses &c
