43 George Smith Late of Somerset County planter Came here into Court in his proper person according to a Certain Writt of attachment against ^him^ Issued for his not appearing before the Justices of his Lordships County Court of Somerset he being Legally Summoned thereto for not burning of tobacco according to act of assembly in Such Case made and provided And forasmuch as the said George Smith hath nothing to object that was Materiall but was willing to pay his fine for the same &c Therefore it is Considered by the Court here that the afd George Smith be fined to his Lordship for and by Occasion of the premisses afd Twenty Shillings Curr.t money of Maryland &c Richard Carey Late of Somerset County planter Came here into Court in his proper person according to a Certain writt of attachment against him Issued for his not burning of tobacco according to act of assembly in Such Case made and provided And for as much as the said Richard Carey hath nothing to Object that was Materiall but was Willing to pay his fine for the same &c Therefore it is Considered by the Court here that the afd Richard Carey be fined to his Lordship for & by occasion of the premisses afd twenty Shillings Curr.t money of Maryland &c whereupon the said Richard Carey is ordered to give Security for the payment of the Several Officers their fees due by means of the premisses afd Whereupon Littleton Townsend of Somerset County planter present here in Court undertook for the said Richard Carey to pay the Severall Officers Fees due by means of the premisses afd in Case ^he^ the same Richard Carey doth not pay the same &c Forasmuch as a Certain Sarah Ainsworth of Somerset County had not burnt so much tobacco as by Law she was Obliged to burn but was Willing to pay her fine for the Same &c Wherefore it is Considered by the Court here that the afd Sarah Ainsworth pay unto his Lordship the Lord Proprietary for her fine for and by occasion of the premisses afd twenty Shillings Curr.t money of Maryland and is ordered to give Security for the payment of the Severall Officers their Fees due &c Thereupon John atkinson of Somerset County planter undertakes for the Said Sarah Ainsworth to pay the Severall Officers their Fees due by means of the premisses afd in Case the said Sarah Ainsworth doth not pay the Same &c
One thousand Seven hundred and thirty Six to answer unto his Lordship of and upon Such things which on his said Lordship behalfe should be then and there objected against him and further to do and receive what the Same Court should Consider of him as also to answer his not burning of One hundred and fifty pounds of tobacco p Taxable in the Years one thousand seven hundred and thirty four and thirty five according to act of assembly in Such Case made and provided &c at which day here Came the Sheriffe of the County afd to witt Joseph McClester Gent and returned that he had attached the said Alexander Thomas whose |
