2 the Indictment and being Instantly demanded how he would acquitt himself of the premisses af.d as by the Indictment af.d above upon him Imposed says that of the premisses as af.d by the Indictment above upon him Imposed he is Guilty thereof &c Whereupon all and Singular the premisses by the Court here seen heard and fully understood It is Considered that the af.d Thomas Collins pay unto his Lordship the Right Honourable the Lord proprietary for his fine by the Court hereupon him Imposed for and by Occasion of the trespass and assault af.d whereof in form af.d he is Convicted five shillings Curr.t money of Maryland and that the said Thomas Collins be taken to satisfie the said Lordship of the fine af.d &c Sheriff present by Francis Porter his deputy &c
six at the parish af.d in the County af.d within the Jurisdiction of this Court did committ fornication with a Certain person to the Jurors af.d unknown and did permitt the same unknown person then and there a basterd Child on the body of her the same Kate to the High displeasure of almighty God to the evil Example of all others in such case offending contrary to the peace of the said Lord proprietary that now is his good Rule and Government and against the [illegible] the Act of assembly in such Case lately made and provided &c Test Thomas Williams On the foregoing bill of Indictment viz.t True Bill p W Jones foreman Thereupon Command was given to the [illegible] County that he should take the said Kate a free Mallatto if she should be [illegible] and her should safe keep so that he might have her body before the Justices of the County Court of Somerset to be held in the Court house at dividing Creek [illegible] Tuesday of March then Next to answer his Lordship of and [illegible] fornication &c and that hereof he Should not fail &c And afterwards the said [illegible] day of the Same month anno Dom [illegible] Justices of his Lordships County [illegible] at dividing Creek in and for the Same County [illegible] and has a hearing of the Indictment aforesaid [illegible] should acquitt herself of the premisses afd as |
