in the plea afd in form following   Somerset County ss William Porter Late of Somerset County
Carpenter was attached to answer unto Henry Reynolds of a plea of trespass upon the Case &a

And Whereupon the same Henry by Robert Jenckins Henry his
attorney complains that whereas the af.d William after the first day of
May seventeen hundred and five (to witt) the twenty eighth day of March
in the year of our Lord God one thousand seven hundred thirty and five
at the af.d County of Somerset within the Jurisdiction of this Court made
his certain note in writing called a promisary not with his proper hand
thereunto subscribed bearing date the same day and year last above
mentioned and the same note then and ^there^ to the said Henry Reynolds did
deliver and by the said note did promise to pay to the af.d Henry (by
the name of Henry Reynolds) the sum of five pounds in either corn or
porck upon demand by reason of which said premisses and also by
vertue of the statute in such case thereof made and provided the
same William became chargeable to pay to the said Henry Reynolds
the af.d sum of five pounds in Corn or pork upon demand according to
the tenor of the note af.d and the same William so thereof Chargeable being
in Consideration thereof afterwards (to witt) the same day and year last
above above mentioned at Somerset County af.d upon himself did assume
and to the same Henry Reynolds then and there faithfully promise
that he the said William the af.d five pound in Corn or pork upon
demand to the same Henry Reynolds he would well and faithfully
pay and Content  Nevertheless the af.d William his promise and
assumption af.d in form af.d made little regarding but minding and
fraudulently intending the same Henry in this part Craftily and Subtily
to deceive and defraud the said sum of five pound in Corn or pork or any part
thereof to the same Henry Reynolds he hath not paid nor him for the
same in any sort Contented altho the same to do the af.d William afterwards
