1738 261 Jack a negro Boy of Samuel Fluelling is adjudged by the Court here to be of the age of Nine Years this term &a Fortune a negro Girle of Samuel Fluellings is adjudged by the Court here to be of the age of Twelve Years of age this term &a Edward Rownd appointed Overseer of the Roads in Boquetennorton Hundred for the Ensuing Year in stead of John Hammond from Mr Hugh Stevensons to Joseph Jones's &a David Brown appointed Overseer of the Roads In stead of Thomas Brown for the Ensuing Year &a Solomon Hitch appointed Overseer of the Roads in Wickacomoco Hundred in Stead of Robert Twilley &a Paris Chipman appointed Overseer of the Road in Nanticoke Hundred in stead of John Windsor &a Upon the Mocon of Robert Jenckins Henry Gent Clerk of the Indictments for Somerset county It is ordered that the Sheriffe of Said County return a pannell of grand Jurors here Immediately to Enquire for his Lordship the Right Honourable the Lord Proprietary and the body of the County aforesaid And afterwards in the Same Court Came the said sheriffe to witt John Henry Gent and made return to the Court here of a pannel of Grand Jurors as followeth viz.t William Waters John Woolford W.m Gray Joseph Polk Joseph Gillisse John Williams Moses Mills James West Cannon Winright Jacob Messick Elias Evans Thomas Reyley Pregrave Turvile John Deverix Richard Sturges Saml Powell Joseph Morris James Townsend Stephen Horsey and John Marsey thereupon Proclamation being made in Common form and the Jurors aforesaid so as afd Impannelled being Severally Called over by ^their^ Names did appear as above and were Sworn and Charged and Sent Out to Consider &a soon after the Grand Jurors afd being Impannelled sworn and Charged as afd return hereinto Court and being Severally Called over did appear and return to the Court here there following Indictments against Betty Rumbly James Ballard Jun John Griffin William Draper Jean Harmon W.m Draper Eliz.a Porter Rachel Miles Sarah ^Watkins^ Nathaniel Waller and Rose a free Mollo woman and Lawrence Arnold thereupon the Grand Jurors aforesaid are discharged and allowed fifty Shillings Curr.t Money of Maryland for their publick Service this Court and against the afd John Griffin William Draper Jean Harmon W.m Draper Eliz.a Porter Rachel Miles Sarah Watkins Nathaniel Waller Rose a free Mollatto Woman & Lawrence Arnold so as afd Indicted it is ordered that Capias Issue Returnable here to August Court next &a |
