                       June Court            1738                 260

Courts to be held for our said County he give his Attendance and Cause to Come before you or any
three or more of you as af.d such and so many Good and Lawfull Men of his Bailywick out of
Each and Every hundred thereof by whom the truth of the Matter in the premises May be the
Better known and Enquired of Lastly you shall Cause to be brought before you at your said
Courts all Writts precepts process and Indictments to your Courts and Juristictions belonging
that the same may be Inspected and by Due Course of Law Determined  Witness our
Trusty and beloved Samuel Ogle Esq.r Lieutenant General and Chief Govenor of
of our said Province of Maryland this 23d day of May In the 24th year of our Dominion
&c  Ann Dom 1738            (Great Seal)         Sam Ogle

    On the foregoing Commission it was Endorsed as followeth viz.t

Maryland ss.t  Charles absolute Lord and Proprietary of the Provinces of Maryland and
Avalon Lord Baron of Baltemore &.a To Mathew Tilghman Ward John Rousby Benjamin
Tasker Philip Lee John Rider George Plater and Edmund Jennings Esq.rs John Smith
Baltimore hundred William Stoughton Edward Chambers John Handy John Scott James Martin
Thomas Williams Henry Ballard and David Wilson of Somerset County Gentlemen Greeting
We do hereby Authorise and Empower you or either of you to administer the Severall oaths
appointed by act of assembly as also the Oath of Judge or Justice to Richard Tilghman James
Hollyday Charles Hammond and Levin Gale Esq.r Robert King George Dashiel
Thomas Gillis Mitchell Dashiel and Samuel Hopkins of Sinapuxent of the same County
Gentl or any of them and you the said Richard Tilghman James Hollyday Charles Hammond
and Levin Gale Esq.r Robert King George Dashiel Thomas Gillis Mitchell Dashiel and Samuel
Hopkins of Sinapuxent or any of you haveing Taken the said Oaths are hereby Impowered
to administer the same to the Justices and Commissioners Respectively as they are Nominated
in the within Commission and we will that you and every of you having taken the said oaths
do severally Subscribe the test and Oath of abjuration and for so doing this shall be your
sufficient Warrent and Authority here of fail not and when you have the same so done
you are to Certifie the Same under your hands and Seals to us in our high Court of Chancery
with all Convenient Speed Wittness Our trusty and well beloved Samuel Ogle Esq.r
Lieutenant Gen.ll and Chief Governour of our said Province of Maryland this Twenty third
day of May in the Twenty fourth Year of our dominion &a  Anno Dom 1738
