246 proclamation made for the said Lord Proprietary (as the manner is) that if any person would Inform the Court here wherefore the said two hogsheads and three Barrells of rum should not be Condemned for the Cause aforesaid or if any would give more for the said two hogsheads and three Barrells of rum than the appraisment afd he Should Come forth & be heard but none so doing Therefore it is Considered by the Court here that the afd Two hogsheads and three Barrells of rum remain forfeited for the Cause afd and that the said Lord Proprietary have the one halfe thereof and that the said Levin Gale Esq.r have the other halfe thereof
seven hundred thirty and seven at the parish af.d in the County af.d within the Jurisdiction of this Court in and upon James Bremin in the peace of God and the said Lord proprietary then and there being by force and Arms an assault did make and him the said James Bremin then and there did beat wound and evilly treat so that of his life it was greatly dispaired and other harms to him then and there did to the Grevious damage of him the said James Bremin and against the peace of the said Lord proprietary that now is his good rule and Government Test James Breeman On the foregoing Bill of Indictment it was Endorsed Ignoramus Robt Jones foreman Before me the Subscriber one of the Lord Proprietarys Justices of the peace for the County of Somerset Came Robert Anston and took the Severall Oaths to the Government and also the oath of Constable for the hundred of Manney and at the Same time Subscribed the Oath of Abjuration and test according to the directions of the act of assembly in Such Case provided Given under my hand this thirteenth day of December annoq Dom 1737 William Stoughton Rob.t Auston Sworn Constable in the room of John Covington Ordered that John Gornwell Valentine Dennis Lazarus Dennis William Handcock and Charles Marchment Recover against Abraham Mannering Sixty pounds of tobacco each for their attendance two days each as wittnesses on behalfe of his Lordship against the said Abra Mannering they & each of them having made oath to the same &a Ordered that Thomas Parrimore Recover against Robert Spear Sixty pounds of tob.o for his attendance two days as an Evidence on behalfe of his Lordship against the said Robert Spear he having made oath to the same &a |
