same Lord proprietary held for the same County of Somerset in the Court house at deviding Creek in the same County the twenty first day of march in the year of our Lord God one thousand seven hundred thirty and seven before Robert King Esq.r and his associated Justices of the said Lord proprietary for the County af.d and doth give the same Justices hereto understand and be Informed that Elizabeth Longo late of Stepney parish in the County af.d Spinster the twentieth day of May Anno Dom one thousand seven hundred and thirty six at the parish af.d in the County af.d and within the Jurisdiction of this Court did committ fornication ^with a Certain^ Richard Jones and did permit the same Richard Jones then and there to have Carnal knowledge of her body and then and there to begott a basterd Child on the body of her the same Elizabeth to the high displeasure of almighty God to the evil example of all others in such case offending Contrary to the peace of the said Lord proprietary that now is his good rule and Government and against the form of the act of assembly in such case lately made and provided &a Whereupon the said attorney of the said Lord proprietary for the said Lord proprietary prays the advice of the Court herein the premisses and that due process of Law in this part against the said Elizabeth may be made to answer the same Lord proprietary of and upon the premisses &a And now to witt the Third Tuesday of March being the Twenty first day of the same month Ann Dom One thousand seven hundred and thirty Seven at that Same term before his Lordships Justices at Dividing Creek Came the afd Elizabeth Longo in her proper person according to a Certain Recognizance by her and her Security before in that part acknowledged and had a hearing of the Information afd and saith that she Cannot deny by that she is guilty of the premisses afd In the Information afd Specified in manner & form |
