    March Court                1737                 206

by putting of the said William Evans a quarter of an hour in the pillowry and by whiping him at the publick whiping
post afd with fifteen Stripes on the bare back well Laid on untill the blood appear and afterwards in the
Same Court Came the said Sheriffe and returned that he had done the Execution of the Judgment afd as
to the Corpoall punishment afd he was Commanded      and for as much as the afd William Evans
hath not wherewithall to satisfie the four fold afd and the Severall Officers Fees due upon the
Indictment and premisses afd   Thereupon Command is Given to John Henry Gent sheriffe of
the County afd that Immediately and without delay he sell the afd William Evans (to the highest
bidder) not Exceeding Seven Years from the date of these presents ^towards satisfaction of the four fold and fees afd^    Afterwards in the
Same Court Came the said Sheriffe and returned that he had in pursuance to the afd Command
sold the said William Evans for Seven Years from the date of these presents unto a Certain Joshua
Atkinson for Nine hundred and Ninety pounds of tobacco &a


John Boyce and Tabitha his wife appears according to their recognizance Entered into for
to give Evidence for his Lordship against W.m Evans and are discharged there from &a


Joanna Collins appears here in Court according to her recognizance Entered into for her appearance
and good behaviour to this Court and is discharged therefrom    Whereupon it is ordered by the
Court here that the Said Joan^na^ Collins give security for the payment of the Severall Officers their
Fees due by means of the premisses afd   Thereupon James West of Somerset County planter
present herein Court undertook for the said Joan^na^ Collins and acknowledged himselfe Indebted unto
the Severall Officers that hath a right to any fee or fees on the premisses afd in five hundred pounds
of tobacco of his bodys goods or Chattells Lands or tenements to the Use of the Severall Officers ^their heirs or assignes^
that have a right to any fee or fees on the premisses afd to be made and Levied  If it happen
that the said Joanna Collins do not pay and Satisfie unto the Severall officers afd their Just
and rightfull fee or fees by means of the premisses afd &a
