    March Court            1737              199

Thereupon it is Commanded the Sheriffe of Somerset County that he Should take
the said Sarah Walston Late of Somerset parish in Somerset County Spinster if
she Should be found in his bailywick and her Should safe keep so that he might
have her body before the Justices of his Lordships County Court of Somerset to be
held at dividing Creek the third Tuesday of March Ann Dom One thousand
Seven hundred and thirty Seven to answer unto his Lordship of and Concerning
her Committing of fornication &a

               Att which day here before his Lordships Justices Came the said Sarah
Walston in her proper person and had a hearing of the Indictment afd who
thereupon saith that she of the premisses afd is guilty thereof and is willing
to pay her fine for the fact afd   but being not of perfect or Sound Memory
is not permitted to make oath to the father &a

       Whereupon all and Singular the premisses by the Court he seen heard and
full understood   It is Considered that the afd Sarah Walston pay unto his
Lordship the Lord Proprietary for her fine for and by occasion of the premisses as afd
by the Court hereupon her Imposed whereof in form afd she is Convicted thirty Shillings
Curr.t money of Maryland (to the Use of the County afd) and that the said Sarah Walston
be taken to Satsfie his said Lordship of the fine afd &a

    Whereupon the said Sarah Walston present herein Court in her proper person is
    ordered to give Security for the payment of the Severall Officers Fees due by
means of the premisses afd &a   Thereupon Benjamin Sharp of Somerset County
Shipwright present herein Court in his proper person acknowledged himselfe
Indebted (on behalfe of the said Sarah Walston) unto the Severall officers that
that hath a right to any fee or fees on the Indictmt afd in five hundred pounds
of tob.o of his body goods or Chattells Lands or tenements to the Use of the Severall
officers afd their heirs or assignes to be made & Levied   In Case he doth not pay
or Cause to be paid unto the Severall Officers their Just and rightfull fees on
the Indictment afd &a
