198 and against the forme of the Act of Assembly in such Case lately made and provided &a Thereupon Command was given to the Sheriffe of Somerset County that he Should take the said John Woolford if he Should be found in his bailywick and him ^should^ safe keep so that he might have his body before the Justices of his Lordships County Court of Somerset to be held at dividing Creek the third Tuesday of March Ann Dom One thousand Seven hundred and thirty Seven to answer unto his Lordship of and Concerning his Committing of adultery with a Certain Margaret Peel &a Att which day here before his Lordships Justices at dividing Creek Came the said John Woolford is Guilty of the premisses afd in the Indictment afd Specified in manner and form as by the Indictment afd above against him Supposed and is willing to pay his fine for the fact afd Whereupon all and Singular the premisses being Seen heard and fully understood It is Considered by the Court here that the afd John Woolford pay unto his Lordship the Lord Proprietary for his fine by the Court here upon him Imposed for and by occasion of the premisses aforesaid whereof in form afd he is Convicted three pounds Curr.t money of Maryland (to the use of the County afd) and that the afd John Woolford be taken to Satisife his said Lordship of the fine afd &a ordered that he give Security for fees &a Robert Jenckins Henry of Somerset County Gent present herein Court undertook for the said John Woolford for the payment of the Severall Officers Fees due by occasion of the premisses afd on the Indictmt afd &a Margaret Peel appears according to recognizance Entered into to give Evidence on behalfe of his Lordship against John Woolford and is discharged therefrom &a
Justices the peace in the same County to keep assigned by the oath of Twelve Jurors being presented that Sarah Walston late of somerset parish in the County af.d spinster the tenth day of March Anno Dom seventeen hund^red^ thirty and six at the parish af.d in the County af.d within the Jurisdiction of this Court did commit fornication with a certain person to the Jurors af.d unknown and did permit the same unknow^n^ person then and there to have carnal Knowledge of her body and to beget then and there a bastard Child on the Body of her the same Sarah to the high Displeasure of Almighty God to the evil Example of all others in such Case offending Contrary to the peace of the said Lord proprietary that now is his good Rule and goverment and against the form of the Act of Assembly in such Case lately made and provided &a Thereupon |
