rendered by sitting the same James Duffey in and upon the pillowry one quarter of an hour and by
whiping him at the publick whiping post with ten Stripes on the bare back well Laid on untill the blood
appear and afterwards in the same Court Came the said Sheriffe and made return that he had done the Ex.n
of the Judgm.t ^afd^ as to the Corporall punishment afd he was Commanded   and thereupon the said James
Duffey present herein Court in his proper person is Committed into the Custody of the Sher of the County
afd thereto remaine (untill the said James Duffey be discharged from a fine of Twenty pounds Curr.t money
of Maryland that he now stands in Custody for) and then the said James Duffey to be returned to the Coty
Court of Somerset in order to be Sold or to make satisfaction for the four fold afd and the severall
officers fees due by means of the premisses afd &a

Memorand.m that at an assize and Goal delivery of his Lordship
the right Honourable Charles absolute Lord and proprietary
of the province of maryland held for the County of Somerset at
deviding Creek in the same County the       day of September Anno Dom
one thousand seven hundred and thirty six on before Levin Gale Esq.r and
Henry Hooper Esq.r Justices of his said Lordship of assize and his Goal in
the County af.d to deliver ^assigned^ as also divers felonys trespasses and other malefeasances
in the same County perpetrated to hear and determine by the
oath of John Waters Gent and twelve others good and Lawfull men of the
County af.d then and there sworn and Charged to enquire for his said Lordship
and the body of the County af.d presented that Jeremiah Lillie late of
all hallowes parish in the County af.d Cordwainer James Duffey late of
the same parish and County Taylor and George Kelly late of the same
parish and County Labourer the thirtieth day of July in the year of our
Lord God seventeen hundred thirty and six with force and arms at the
parish af.d in the County af.d within the Jurisdiction of this Court one
pair of striped Holland Breeches of the value of five shillings Currt
money of maryland one new checked linnen shirt of the value of eight shillings
like money one flannel Jacket of the value of five shillings like
