date whereof is the same day and year af.d &.a            Pledges &.a J Doe & R Roe

And the af.d Antoney Taylor by William Beckingham his attorney Cometh
and defendeth the force and Injury when &.a and saith that he Cannot deny the
action af.d of the af.d Joseph M.ccClester nor but that the writing obligatory
af.d is the deed of the same Anthoney Taylor nor but that he oweth the same Joseph
the af.d sum of forty eight pounds two shillings and ten pence Currt money of
maryland in manner and form as the af.d Joseph above against him declared &a

    Therefore it is Considered that the af.d Joseph Macclester recover
against the af.d Antoney Taylor his debt af.d and his damages by occasion
272   of the detaining the same debt to: Two hundred and Ninety Four
pounds of tobacco to the same Joseph of his assent by the Court here adjudged
and the af.d Antoney in mercy &.a

otherwise Called William porter was Sumoned to answer unto
Alexander Buncle of a plea that he render him fifty five pounds
Eight Shillings and six pence Curr.t Money of Maryland which to him he owes and
unjustly detaines &a
                                              And Whereupon the said Alexander by
George Douglas his attorney saith that whereas the said ^William^ on the seventeenth day of
march Anno Dom MDCCXXXvi at the County af.d by his certain writing obligatory
which the said Alexander sealed with the seal of the said William hereinto Court
brings whose date is the day and year af.d did acknowledge himself to be held and
firmly bound unto the said Alexander in the af.d fifty five pounds eight shillings
and six pence Currt money of maryland to be paid to the said Alexander his heirs
Ex.rs adm.rs or assignes when he should afterwards thereto required  Nevertheless the
said William the said fifty five pounds eight shillings and six pence to the said Alexander
hath not rendred but that to doe hitherto hath denyed and still doth deny and unjustly
detain altho' thereto afterwards to witt on the twenty first day of may altho
Anno Dom MDCCXXXvi at the County af.d and often since that time by the
