testify the date whereof is the same day and year af.d    Pledges &.a J Doe & R Roe

And the af.d Alexander Thornes bv William Beckingham his attorney Cometh
and defendeth the force and Injury when &.a and saith that he Cannot deny the action
af.d of the af.d Joseph M.ccClester nor but that the writing obligatory af.d is the deed
of the same Alexander Thornes nor but that he oweth the same Joseph the af.d seventeen
hundred thirty two pounds of tobacco in manner and form as the af.d Joseph above
against him declared &.a 
                                           Therefore it is Considered that the af.d Joseph M.ccClester ^recover^ recover
against the af.d Alexander Thornes his debt af.d and his damages by occasion of the
172   detaining the same debt to one hundred & Ninety Four
pounds of tobacco to the same Joseph of his assent by the Court here adjudged
and the af.d Alexander in mercy &.a

County planter Otherwise Called Antony Taylor of Somerset County
planter was Sumoned to answer unto Joseph Macclester of the same County
of a plea that he render unto him the Sum of Forty Eight pounds two shillings and tenn
pence Curr.t money of Maryland which unto him he Owes and unjustly detaines &a

                             And whereupon the Same Joseph by William Goldsborough his attry
saith that whereas the af.d Anthony the third day of December Anno Dom seventeen
hundred thirty and six at Somerset County af.d by his certain writing obligatory had
granted himself to be bound unto the af.d Joseph in the af.d sum of forty eight pound
two shillings and ten pence Currt money of maryland to be paid unto the said
Joseph when thereof afterwards he should be required  Nevertheless the af.d
Anthony altho' often required the af.d sum of money unto the same Joseph
hath not rendred but that unto him hitherto to render altogether hath refused
and still doth refuse to the damage of the same Joseph eighty pounds Currt
money of maryland and thereupon he brings suit &.a and brings hereinto
Court the writing obligatory af.d which the debt af.d in form af.d testifies the
