1737 145 detained and kept from your petitioner Christopher Glass and your petitioner humbly Craves your worships will be pleased to order the said Christopher to make appear by what Authority he keeps the said boy from your petitioner and your petitioner as in duty bound shall ever pray Thereupon Command was given to the Sheriffe of Somerset County that he Should sommons the afd Christopher Glass if he should be found in his bailywick that all excuses sett apart he be and appear Immediately here in Court to answer the petition afd of the afd Thomas Lambden &a Afterwards to witt the same day before the Justices of his Lordships County Court of Somerset at dividing Creek Came the said Sheriffe and returned that he had Somoned the said Christopher Glass as afd he was Commanded &a Whereupon Came hereinto Court before the afd Justices as well the afd Thomas Lambden by William Beckingham his attorney as the afd Christopher Glass by George Douglas his attorney and the petition afd being read and heard and fully understood and the Severall allegations as well on the part of the same Thomas Lambden as on the part of the afd Christopher Glass all which being weighted and by the Justices here maturally deliberated It is Considered by the Court here that the afd Thomas Lambden take nothing by his petition aforesaid and that the same Christopher Glass goe thereof without day also it is Considered that the said Christopher Glass recover against the said Thomas Lambden 192 pounds of tobacco by the Court here unto the Same Christopher of his assent for his Costs and Charges ^by the Court here^ adjudged &a
Glass your petitioner therefore humbly prays that Somons may Issue against the said John Burke to shew Cause why he hath absented himself as af.d and make such order therein as to your worships shall seem meet and he will pray Thereupon Command was given to the Sheriffe of Somerset County that he Should Sumons the afd John Burke Junr if he Should be found in his Bailywick that all Excuses set apart he should be and appear Immediately here in Court before the Justices thereof to answer the petition afd of the afd |
