a certain Mary M.cfarline of the same County in the peace of God and of the said Lord
proprietary then and there being with force and arms an assault did make and the same
Mary then and there did beat wound and evilly treat so that of her life it was much
despaired and other harms to her then and there did to the great damage of the same
Mary and against the peace of the said Lord proprietary that now is his good rule
and Government &.a
                                           Thereupon Command was given to the Sheriffe of Somerset
County that he Should take the said Joan Collings if &.a to answer &.a  And now to witt at
this same term held for Somerset County at dividing Creek in the same County the third Tuesday
of Novem to witt the fifteenth day of the Same month ann Dom One thousand Seven
hundred and thirty Seven before the Justices afd Cometh the afd Joan Collings according
to a Certain Recognizance by her and her Security in that part before acknowledged in her
proper person and had a hearing of the Indictment afd and saith that she Cannot
deny but that she is guilty of the trespass and assault afd in the Indictment afd
Specified above upon her Imposed in manner and form as by the Indictment afd above
against her Supposed   Whereupon all and Singular the premisses being seen and by the
Court here fully understood   It is Considered by the Court here that the afd Joan
Collings pay unto his Lordship the Lord Proprietary for his fine by the Court here
upon her Imposed for and by Occasion of the trespass and assault afd whereof in
form afd she is Convict tenn Shillings Currant money of Maryland and that the afd
Joan Collings be taken to satisfie his said Lordship of the fine afd &a   Whereupon the
said Joan Collings is ordered to give Security for the payment of the severall Officers Fees due
by means of the premisses afd   Thereupon James West of Somerset County planter
present herein Court in his proper person undertook for the same Joan Collings and
acknowledged himselfe Indebted unto the Severall Officers of Somerset County Court that
hath a right to any fee or fees on the Indictment afd in One thousand pounds of tobacco
of his body goods or Chattells Lands or tenements to the Use of the Severall Officer or Officers
their heirs or assigns to be made and Levied   In Case the said Joan Collings her heirs Exrs or
adm.rs do not pay and Satisfie unto the Severall Officers in the County afd their Just &
right full fee or fees on the Indictment afd &a   Whereupon the afd Mary Mccfarline present
here in Court in her proper person prays the surety of the peace against the said Joan Collings and
takes the oath of the peace in Common form &.a  Whereupon the said Joan Collings is ordered by the
                                                                                                                                                 Court
