1737 139 Seen and fully understood It is Considered by the Court here that the aforesaid Catherine Harrison of the premisses aforesaid be quiet and goe thereof without day &.a Whereupon the said Catherine Harrison is ordered by the Court here to give Security for the payment of the Severall officers their fees ^due^ by means of the premisses afd and for default thereof the Same Catherine Harrison present herein Court is Committed into the Custody of the Sheriffe of the County afd thereto remaine untill the Severall Officers ^be satisfied for^ their Just and rightfull fee or fees in the premisses afd the said Sher to witt John Henry Gent present herein Court took Charge of the said Catherine accordingly &a
at the parish af.d in the County af.d within the Jurisdiction of this Court did Commit fornication with a Certain person to the Jurors af.d unknown and did permit the same unknown person then and there to have Carnal knowledg of her Body and to beget then and there a bastard Child on the body of her the same Lydia to the high Displeasure of Almighty God to the evil Example of all others in such Case offending Contrary to the peace of the said Lord proprietary that now is his good rule and gover^n^ment against the form of the Act of Assembly in such Case lately made and provided &c Test Benjamin Holland On the foregoing Bill of Indictment it was Endorsed vizt Billa Vera Samuel Wilson foreman Thereupon Command was Given to the Sheriffe of Somerset County that he Should take the said Lydia Coefeild Late of Coventry parish in Somerset County Spinster if She should be found in his bailywick and her should safe keep so that he might her body before the Justices of his Lordships County Court of Somerset to be held at Dividing Creek in the Same County the third Tuesday of June Anno Dom One thousand Seven hundred and thirty Seven to answer unto his said Lordship of and Concerning the Indictment afd &.a and that thereof he Should not fail &a And now to witt the third Tuesday of June being the twenty first day of the Same month ann Dom One thousand Seven hundred and thirty Seven that same term before his Lordships Justices at dividing Creek in the same County Came |
