138 James Kane be taken to Satisfie his Lordship of the fine afd &a Whereupon the said James Kane is Ordered by the Court here to give Security for the payment of the Severall Officers fees due by means of the premisses on the Indictment afd Thereupon Joseph Tillman of Somerset County planter his security present herein Court acknowledged himselfe Indebted unto the Severall Officers of Somerset County Court that hath a right to any fee or fees on the Indictment afd in one thousand pounds of tobacco of his body goods or Chattells Lands or tenements to the use of the Severall Officer or officers their heirs or assignes to be made and Levied In Case the said James Kane his heirs Executors or administrators doe not pay and satisfie unto the Severall Officers in the County afd their Just and right full fee or fees on the Indictment afd &a
Seven hundred and thirty Seven before Robert King Gent and others his associates Justices of his ^the^ said Lord proprietary the peace in the County afd to Conserve and also divers felonys trespasses and Other Malefeasances in the Same County Committed to hear and determine assigned by the Oath of William Holland and twelve others being presented that Catherine Harrison late of all hollows parish in the County af Spinster the tenth day of January Anno Dom seventeen hundred thirty and six at the parish af.d in the County af.d and within the Jurisdiction of this Court did committ fornication with a certain person to the Jurors af.d unknown and did permit the same unknown person then and there to have Carnal knowledge of her body and to beget then and there a basterd Child on the body of her the same Catherine to the high despleasure of almighty God to the evil example of all others in such case offending Contrary to the peace of the said Lord proprietary that now is his good rule and Government and against the form of the act of assembly in such case made and provided &.a Thereupon it is Commanded the then sherriffe of Somerset County that he should take the said Catherine Harrison late of Somerset County Spinster if she should be found in his bailywick and her should safe keep so that he ^might^ have her body ^before^ the Justices of his Lordships County Court of Somerset to be held at dividing Creek in the same County the third tuesday of August Anno Dom one thousand seven hundred and thirty seven to answer his said |
