123 harms to him then and there did to the great damage of the same Thomas Adams and against the peace of the Lord proprietary &.c wherefore he says that he is the worse and damage hath to the value of three thousand pounds of tobacco and therefore he brings this suit &c Pledges &.c John Doe & R Roe And the af.d Thomas Blizard by Geo: Douglas his his attorney Cometh and defendeth the force and Injury when &.c and prayeth leave thereof to Imparle here untill the ^third tuesday of^ March then Next Following and he hath it and the same day is given to the af.d Thomas Adams here also &c Att which day here Came againe as well the af.d Thomas Adams as the af.d Tho.s Blizard by their attorneys ^afd^ and whereupon the same Thomas Blizard prays further leave thereof to Imparle here untill the third tuesday of June then next following and he hath it and the same day is given to the af.d Thomas Adams here also &c Att which day here Came againe as well the af.d Thomas Adams as the af.d Thomas Blizard by their attorneys af.d And whereupon the same Thomas Blizard prays further leave thereof to Imparle here untill the third tuesday of August then next following and he hath it and the same day is given to the af.d Thomas Adams here also &c Att which day here Came againe as well the af.d Thomas Adams as the af.d Thomas Blizard by their attorneys af.d and whereupon the same Thomas Blizard as before defends the force and Injury when &.c and as to the coming with force and arms or whatsoever is against the peace of the said Lord proprietary now he says that he is in no sort thereof Guilty and of this he puts himself upon the Country Geo: Douglas And as to the Residue of the trespass af.d above supposed to be done the af.d Thomas Blizard says that he the said Thomas Adams his accon af.d thereof against him to have and maintain ought not because he says that on the day and year in the declaration mentioned at Somerset County af.d the af.d Thomas Adams with force and arms viz.t with a we^a^pon commonly called a Gun in and upon a Certain John Deal an assault did make and the said John Deal with the Gun af.d would have then and there beaten wounded and killed and the af.d Thomas Blizard further in fact says that to perserve the peace of the said Lord proprietary and keep the said John Deal from being beaten wounded and killed by the said Thomas ^Adams^ he the said Thomas Blizard did |
