Talbot County to wit
 I hereby Certify that John Higgins Jun.r
of the County and State afs.d came &
Proved to my satisfaction that the bearer hereof a dark
mullatto man named "Boston" who is now about 70 years
of age 5 feet 5½ inches high a three scars on the back of
his left hand occasioned by the bite of a dog is the
Identical person named in a manumission from Ellenor
Higgins to sundry negroes bearing date the 14.th day of Sep.t 1784
and duly attested acknowledged and enrolled among the
Land records of the County afs.d the said Boston to be free
from the date thereof
                         In Testimony &.c this 11.th of April 1812
                                                          J Loockerman Cl of T. C. C.

Talbot County to wit
I hereby certify to all persons
whom it doth concern that Ignatius Rhodes a
respectable Citizen of the county and state afsd came and
proved to my satisfaction that the bearer hereof (negro)
Peter" alias Peter Sewell who is now about twenty
    three years of age 5 feet 8 Inches high of a
    Black complexion has one small scar
    between the second and third Joint of the fore
    finger of his left hand one other small scar between
    the second and third Joints of the little finger of the
    same hand two other small scars on the fore
    finger of the same hand and between the
    first and second Joints thereof one other
    small scar on the left side of his nose
