State of Maryland  Talbot County to wit
                I hereby certify that Doct.r John Coats of the County &
state afs.d came and proved to my satisfaction that the
bearer hereof a Black Man who calls himself Charles Blake
and who is now about 5 feet 10 in: high of a Dark complexion
with a scar on his right cheek near his eye also
one other scar about the middle of his breast and about
25 years of age is the Identical ^negro^ man he set free by a
Manumission duly executed & recorded in one of the Land
Record of Talbot County afsd   In Testimony &.ca
this 22d day of Aug.t Anno Dom 1809

    State of Maryland Talbot County To wit:  I hereby
certify that Philip Rigby of the said County & State
came and proved to my satisfaction that the bearer
hereof a black man who Calls himself Perry
Atkins and who is now about Twenty three years
of age five feet five inches and an half high
rather of a bright Complexion a scar of his left eye
                is the identical person named in a manumission
                from him the said Philip Rigby to be free from
                the date hereof and that the said Perry
                Atkins was raised in the County & State afd
                where the said Man was recorded
                         In Testimony &.c this 13.th of Ap 1810
