Talbot County to wit
 I hereby Certify to all whom
it doth or may concern
That Sam.l Troth a respectible Citizen of the County
& State af.d came and proved to my satisfaction
that the bearer hereof a Black woman
who Calls herself Betty and who is now about
4 ft 9 on high dark complection with a scar
on the Bone of her left cheek also several
small scars on her arms & about 16 years of age
was born free  In Testimony &.c  this 5.th of
Aug.t 1809

             State of Maryland  Talbot County to wit
                   I hereby Certify that to my Certain Knowledge
            the Bearer hereof who calls herself ^negro^ Easther alias
             Easther Ross & who is now about 26 yrs of age
             4 feet 10 in high has a large scar on her left
             wrist ^of a dark complexion a little crosseyed^ is the identical person manumitted by Doc.t
             [illegible] Allen on the 14 Jany 1795 to be free on the
             when she should arrive to the age of 25 yrs of
             age which s.d manumission was duly pro acknowledged
             & enrolled among the Land records of the
             Coty af.d where the said negro woman was raised
                (Seal)      In Testimony & this 2.d May 1811
