State of Maryland
Talbot County to wit
 I hereby certify that Robert
Moore a respectible citizen
of the County and State aforesaid came and
proved to my satisfaction that the bearer a
mullatto man who calls himself John Procter &
who is 5 ft. 8 in: high yellow complected with a large
scar on his right wrist and about 23 years of age
Is the Identical person named in a manumission
from Daniel Procter his Father to him the said
John Procter and which is duly executed and
recorded in one of the Land record Books of
Talbot County af.d   In Testimony &.c this 7 day of
Aug.t 1809                                 JLoockerman Cl


             State of Maryland  Talbot County To wit  I hereby
             certify to all whom it doth or may Concern that
             to my certain Knowledge the bearer hereof a bright
             mulatto man who calls himself Stanly Nicols
             between forty two and forty three years of age five feet
             six inches high is the identical negro man
             set free by Nicholas Hammond by a Deed of
             Man.n bearing date the 1.st day of Dec.r 1807
             which was duly enrolled on ^one^ the Land records
             of the County afs.d   And the same negro man
             named Stanly Nicols was raised in the County
             and State afs.d   in Testimony &.c the 1.st Sep.r
