68 State of Maryland Talbot County to wit I hereby certify that Jonathan Rigby of the County and State aforesaid came and proved to my satisfaction that the bearer hereof a black woman who calls herself Mary rather of a bright complexion five feet and an half inch high with several scars on her right arm one of which a little above her elbow is very notable also one large scar over her left eye and now in the seventeenth year of her age is the identical person named in a Manumission from Jonath Rigby to sundry negroes and which is legally executed and recorded amongst the Land Record Books of the County afs.d In Testimony &.a this 28th day of June 1809 State of Maryland Talbot County To wit I hereby certify that James Battie of the County and State afs.d came and proved to my satisfaction that the bearer hereof a black woman who calls herself Minor and who is about four feet eleven inches and one eighth of an inch high with a scar on her forehead over her right eye & now about thirty years of age is the identical person named in a Manumission from him to sundry negroes & that she was raised in the County & State afs.d In Testimony whereof &.c this 11.th octo 1809 JLoockerman Clk State of Maryland Talbot County to wit: I hereby certify that Peter Denny Gent.l of said County & State came and proved to my satisfaction that the bearer hereof a mulatto woman who calls herself Memory Cornish and who is now about Thirty five years of age five feet four inches high 1 small scar near the corner of her right eye one other Scar on the underpart of her left arm is the identical person named in a manum.n made by Tho.s S Denny to be free at the end of the year eighteen hundred and nine which s.d mann was duly executed & recorded among the land records of the County & State afd where the said Memory Cornis was raised In Testimony &.c this 24th of Aug.t 1810 JLoockerman |
