61 State of Maryland Talbot County to wit: I hereby certify that M.r Willson S Bush of the County and State aforesaid came and proved to my satisfaction that the bearer hereof a black Man who calls himself Jack Bantom and who is now about twenty five years of age five feet seven inches and an half high a very large scar from above the wrist of his left hand to the little finger of the same hand the said little finger is very much contracted and is drawn [illegible] to the palm of the hand one long and narrow scar on his right hand this scar extends from the wrist of said hand to the third joint of the forefinger of the same hand one other small scar near the third joint near the third joint of the middle finger of his right hand one other small scar between his eye brow; and of a dark complexion is the identical person named Jack in a Manumission made by a certain Joseph Darden of the County afs.d to be free when he should arrive to the age of twenty five years (which happened on the twenty second day of June last) which said man was duly executed acknowledged and recorded among the Land Record Books of the County afs.d where the said Jack Barton was raised In Testimony &.c this 21.st Octo 1811 JLoockerman Cl
