60 State of Maryland Talbot County to wit: I hereby Certify that Richard Markland of the County and State af.d came & proved to my satisfaction that the bearer hereof a black man who calls himself Col Thomas & was who is now about 21 years of age of 5 feet 6½ inches high dark complection with out any remarkable scars is the identical person named in a manumission from Levin Cox to sundry negroes bearing date the 28.th day of march 1811 to be free from the Date thereof which said manumission was duly acknowledged & enrolled among the Land records of the County af.d where the said negro Jos Tehe Thomas was raised In testimony &.c this 10 May 1811 JLoockerman Cl State of Maryland Talbot County to wit I hereby certify that M.r Richard Earle of the County and State aforesaid Came and proved to my satisfaction that the bearer hereof a black man who calls himself James Anderson & who is now about Thirty nine years of age five feet ten inches & an half high one scar on his right Jaw bone one small scar on the left side of his Chin his fore finger of the left hand from the end to the first joint crooked and disfgured and of a dark Complexion is the identicle person Called Jim in a mission ( made by Elizabeth Hollyday of the county and state afs.d on the twenty second day of January 1803) to be free from the date thereof which said manumission was duly executed and recorded among the land Record Books of the county and state afs.d where the James Anderson was raised Intestimony &c this 9.th day of october 1811 JLoockerman Clk |
