The State of Maryland
Talbot County to wit:
I hereby Certify all persons whom
it doth or may Concern that M.r Thomas Camper of the county
and state aforesaid came and proved to my satisfaction
that the bearer hereof a mulatto Woman who calls
her self Betsey Tibbes who is now about Twenty one years
of age 5 ^feet^ 6 Inches & three quarters of an inch high has the
second third and fourth fingers of her left hand
entirely off the fore finger of the same hand off by
the second Joint the nail of the thumb of the same
hand off and a larger scar nearly covering the back
of the same hand occasioned as she says by a burn
the thumb and forefinger of her right hand considerably
deformed and she says was also occasioned
by a burn was born free and raised in the county
and State afores.d
                            In Testimony whereof
                            &.c this 31st day of may 1814

State of Maryland
Talbot County to wit
I hereby certify all persons
whom it doth or may concern that Doct.r Samuel
S. Dickinson of Talbot County Came and proved to
my satisfaction that the bearer a black man
by the name of Hercules six feet one Inch with
no visible mark or scar about twenty five years
of age was raised in the County is free by
manumission
                      In Testimony &
    (Seal)         this 15 day of aug.t 1815
