34 State of Maryland Talbot County To wit I hereby to all whom it doth or may Concern that William Brown of the County and State afs.d Came and proved to my satisfaction that the bearer hereof a negro man who calls himself David Foster who is five feet five and an half inches high rather of a bright Complexion with a scar on the right side of his face between the ear and Cheek also one other scar on the upper part of the thumb of his left hand his third finger on the right hand some what deformed and about thirty five years of age Is the Identical person that was set free by a Man. from Joseph Foster and which is duly recorded in one of the Land record Books of the County and State aforesaid also that the said David Foster was raised in the County & State afsd In Testimony &.c this 12th Sep.r 1809 JL Maryland Talbot County To wit I hereby certify to all whom it doth or may concern that Hugh Rice of the County & state afs.d came and proved to my satisfaction that the bearer hereof a Mulatto woman who calls herself Francis and who is about five feet two inches & three quarters of an Inch high one tooth on the upper side of her right Jaw projecting out and forming a double tooth one small Mole on the ball of her left thumb one small D.o between |
