31 State of Maryland Talbot County to wit: I hereby certify to all persons whom it doth or may concern that M.r Reubin McQuay of the County and State afs.d came and proved to my satisfaction that the bearer hereof a black man named "Henry" who is now about twenty six years of age 5 ^feet^ 8¾ Inches high has no notable marks or scars was manumitted and set free by Patrick M.cQuay of the County and State aforesaid In Testimony &c (Seal) this 15th day of may 1815 JLoockerman Clk State of Maryland Talbot County to wit I hereby certify that M.r Reubin M.cQuay of the County and State afs.d Came and proved to my satisfaction that the bearer hereof a black woman named "Charity" who is now about twenty five years of age 5 feet 4 Inches high has one small scar on the inner edge of her wrist one other small scar on the back of her left hand & near the third Joint of the fore finger thereof was manumitted & set free by M.
