State of Maryland
Talbot County to wit
I hereby Certify all persons whom it
doth or may concern that Lewis Bush of the county
aforesaid came and proved to my satisfaction that the
bearer hereof a negro Daniel a black about thirty three
years of age five feet seven Inches and one quarter of
an Inch high with a scar near his left Eye and
another on his left wrist was raised in the county
and was raised by Joseph Darden late of s.d County
                               In Testimony whereof &c
                                  this 13th day of July 1814

State of Maryland Talbot County to wit
I hereby Certify all persons whom it doth or
may Concern that John Stevens Sen.r of the county
aforesaid came and proved to my satisfaction that
the bearer hereof a black man by the name
of David five feet six Inches and three quarters
of an Inch high with several scars on his
brest a scar on the left side of his nose and on
the right side of his forehead and on his left
wrist about twenty six years of age was raised
in the County afs.d and is the Identical Negro
manumitted by Henry Bowdle
                            In Testimony &c
                            this 30th day of Dec.r 1814
