Talbot County to wit
 I hereby certify that William Needles
of the County & State afs.d came and
proved to my satisfaction that the bearer hereof (a mulatto
man who calls himself Daniel Hawkins & who is now
about 31 years of age 5 feet 6½ inches high) was born free
& raised in the Coty afsd
                   (seal)         In Testimony &.c this 29.th day

 I hereby Certify that M.r Edward
M.c Daniel of the county and
State afs.d came and proved to my satisfaction that
the bearer hereof a black man named John alias
John Dawson who is now about twenty years of age
five feet five Inches and three quarters of an Inch
high has one scar partly on the third Joint of his
left thumb & has several marks or lumps on his
breast occasioned by the heat was born Free and
Raised in the County and State aforesaid
                            In Testimony &.c this 19.th
              day of october Eighteen hundred & twelve

                               of Tal County Court

 I hereby Certify that M.r Edward
McDaniel of the county and
State aforesaid came and proved to my satisfaction
that the bearer hereof (a light black or very Dark
mulatto man named Charles alias Charles Dawson
who is now about twenty two years of age
five feet five Inches and half an Inch high has a
small scar directly on the second Joint of the little
finger of his left hand has a number of little
scars in his face occasioned by the small pox
was born free and raised in the County afs.d
                               In Testimony whereof &
                               this 19th day of octr 1812
