The State of Maryland
Talbot County to wit
I hereby certify all persons whom it
doth or may concern that Jane Catross of the county afs.d came
and proved to my satisfaction that the bearer hereof a black man
by the name of Levin Caulk five feet three Inches high
with a scar on his under lip and one long scar on the
upper part of his breast also a small scar over his left
Eye in his forehead was raised in the County aforesaid
and about twenty two years of age
                               In witness &c this 18th of may

State of Maryland
Talbot County to wit:
I hereby certify all persons whom
it doth or may concern that M.r Isaac Bowdle of the
County afs.d Came and proved to my satisfaction that the
bearer hereof a black man by the name of Jacob
about twenty Eight years of age 5 feet five Iinches and
an half ^Inch^ high without any sisable scars or marks
was born & raised in the County is the negro man
manumitted by him the said Isaac Bowdle
                            In Testimony &c
          (Seal)         this 13.th day of July 1815
