22 State of Maryland Talbot County to wit: I hereby Certify that M.r James Radcliffe of the County & State afs.d came & proved to my satisfaction that the Bearer hereof ^a Black man named^ a negro George alias George Gross was manumitted and set free by William Hindman on the 11.th day of Decr 1804 the said George alias George Gross is now about 33 y.rs of age six feet and 1 Eighth of an inch high has one small scar under his right eye one other scar on the inside of the third finger of his left hand occasioned by a cut with a scythe the said finger is also a Little Crooked In Testimony &.c this 14.th of April 1813 Seal JL Clk
and proved to my satisfaction that the bearer hereof Levin Hawkins a slender made black man about five feet 10 Inches high with a small scar on the upper on the left part of his upper lip was raised in the County and is about twenty six years of age In Testimony &.c this 11th day of (seal) July 1815 JLoockerman Clk Maryland Talbot County to wit: I hereby certify that Mr Thomas Jenkins of the Coty & State afs.d came & proved to my satisfaction that the bearer hereof a mulatto Girl who calls herself "Ron" & who is now about 16 years of age 4 feet 16½ in high has one small scar near the third Joint of the fore finger of her right hand was man & set free by Daniel Cromwell of the County & State afs.d In Testimony &.c this 7 Sept 1815 |
