Talbot County to wit
 I hereby Certify that M.r James Mackey
of the County and State afs.d came & proved
to my satisfaction that the Bearer hereof
(a Black man who calls himself Peter Cooper and who is
now about 21 years of age 5 feet 5 inches high has no remarkable
Scars) was born free and raised in the County afs.d
                            In Testimony &.c this 16th of Feby 1813

 I hereby certify that Mr ^William K^ James
Lambdin of the County and State
afs.d came and proved to my satisfaction
that the bearer hereof negro Thomas alias
Thomas Cooper (who is now about 27 years of age
FIve feet 7 inches high of a bright mullatto
complexion has one scar on his the top & near or
upon the joint of his right wrist other scar (small)
just above the second joint of his left thumb) was
[illegible] is the Identicle person Manumitted & set free by a certain Joseph
Cooper by Deed of Manumission bearing date the 24th of Feb.y 1815 which
was duly Executed & executed recorded in the Land Records for Said County
                                              In Testimony &.c the 7th of
                      April March 1817

Elbert of the County & State
afs.d came & proved to my satisfaction that the
bearer hereof negro Levin otherwise called Levin
Thomas who is now about 22 y.rs of age 5 feet 10¼
inches high of a black complexion has no notable
mark or scars was born free & raised in the County
afs.d                In Testimony &.c this 8.d of March
