State of Maryland
Talbot County to wit
 I hereby Certify all persons
whom it doth or may concern
that Samuel Adams came and proved to my satisfaction
that the bearer hereof a black negro woman named
Deborah (alias) Deborah Thomas about forty years
of age   five feet two and an half inches high with
scars on her left arm occasioned by burns  and is the
Identical negro woman he manumited this present
Year 1807 and was raised in the County

                      In Testimony &C


State of Maryland
  Talbot County to wit
 I hereby certify all persons whom it
doth or may concern that Thomas
of the County afs.d came and proved to my satisfaction that the
bearer hereof a Black negro Chid aged six years three
feet Eleven inches high is the daughter of a negro woman
named Rachel manumitted by him & his sisters in the year
seventeen hundred and ninety four and was raised in the
County of Talbot as afs.d
