State of Maryland
Talbot County to wit
 I hereby certify all persons
whom it doth or may concern
that Doctor Ennals Martin of the Town of Easton
in Talbot County afsd came & proved to my satisfaction
that the Bearer hereof Negro Tom 5 feet 5 inches
high 30 years of age of a black complexion with a
scar over his right eye is the identical negro manumitted
by Thomas Chamberlaine (late of Talbot County
in the year 1789 and that the said Negro became
free when he arrived to the age of 21
                      In Testimony whereof I have hereto
(seal)            set my hand and affixed the public seal
                    of my Office this 15 day of July Anno Domini
                            1806  J  Loockerman Clerk

that Elizabeth Hutton of Easton in Talbot County
aforesaid came & prove to my satisfaction that Negro
Jam Dawson five feet one inch high twenty six years
of age of a yellowish complexion with her fore teeth
decayed was raised in Talbot County afsd and that
she knew her to be free born   (9 day) of July 1806

       high rather slender made with no
       particular visible mark of the age
       of thirty one years raised in this
