State of maryland Talbot County to wit  I hereby certify
that M.r Benjamin Parrott of the County & State aforesaid
came and proved to my satisfaction that the bearer
hereof a Dark mulatto man who calls himself
James Commons and who is now about 23
years of age 5 feet 6½ Inches high has the
top of the left year off which he says was cut off
by a negro fellow whilst Engaged with him in a
fight has a scar on his under lip and on the
fore finger of his left hand near the third joint
was born free and raised in the County afs.d

Talbot County to wit
I hereby certify that
M.r Jonathan Rigby of the County & State
aforesaid came and proved to my satisfaction
that the bearer hereof Negro Adam who is now
about 25 years of age 5 feet 2¼ Inches high
of a Light black Complexion has a number of
small scars on the back of his right hand
is the Identicle person manumitted and
set free by Jonathan Rigby Senior of the
County and State aforesaid
                In Testimony & this 19th
                   day of aug.t 1815
