State of Maryland Talbot County to wit:
             I hereby Certify to all whom it doth or may concern
That Adam Edgar of the County and State af.d
Came and Proved to my satisfaction that the bearer
hereof a black woman who calls herself Ary Caldwell
about 41 years of age 5 feet & three quarters
of an inch high a scar over her left eye brow
is a free born woman and that she was raised
in the County and State af.d    In Testimony &.c
this 11.th day of Sep.r Anno Dom 1809

     Talbot County to wit
 I hereby Certify that Richard
Grace (a free Coloured man) of
the County & State afsd came
       and proved to my Satisfaction that the bearer
       hereof (a Black Woman who calls herself Mary alias
       Mary Grace about 31 y.rs of age five feet 2½ inches
       high has one Scar near the outer Corner of her left
       eye no other notable marks) is the Identical person
       set free by him the said Richd Grace on the 3d of
       May 1813
                                  In Testimony &.c this 10.th of Dec
