State of maryland
Talbot County to wit
 I hereby Certify that Tilla Nutter came and
proved to my Satisfaction that the bearer
hereof a black man who calls himself Emory Barrow is
now about 23 years of age 5 f.t 9½ Inches and a quarter ^high^ has
no notable Scars was born free and was raised in the County afsd
                         In Testimony whereof &c
                         this 9th day of June 1814

Talbot County to wit
I hereby certify that Francis
Neale came and proved to my
Satisfaction that the bearer hereof (negro Charles who is
now about Sixty two years of age 5 feet 4¾ Inches high
of a yellow Complexion has one Scar on the left side
of his forehead one other on the left Eye 1 other scar
in his Left Eye brow 1 other scar on the inside of his
right thumb and the little finger of his right hand
Crooked which he is unable to straten and which
he says was occasioned by paynes is the Identicle
person manumated by Joseph Denny on the 21st
Jany 1793 which manumission was duly Executed
and acknowledged & Enrolled among the land
Records of the County afsd
