State of Maryland Talbot County to wit:  I hereby certify
that Mr Thomas Watts of the County & state afd came
and proved to my satisfaction that the bearer hereof
a black Man who calls himself Thomas Thomas
and who is about 23 years of age  5 feet 5¼ inches
high  a little pock broken in the face  one large
scar on his breast occasioned by a burn  and dark
complexion is the identical person named in a man
bearing date the 28.th day of March 1811  to be free
from the date thereof  which said Mann was
made by a certain Levin Cox (a free black man) of
the County & State afd and which which is duly
acknowledged and recorded among the Land records
Books of the County afd where the said Tho.s Thomas
was raised      In Testimony whereof &.c this
28th of March 1811            JLoockerman Cl

Ann Sharpless of the County
and State afsd came hereof a Black Man who calls
himself Ben Tender & who is now about 21
years of age 5 feet 5¾ in high has one small scar
on the 2.d Joint of the 3.d finger of his left hand has
no other noteable scars) was born free & raised in
the Coty afsd
