119 State of Maryland Talbot County To wit I hereby certify that M.r Andrew Skinner of said County & State came and proved to my satisfaction that the bearer hereof a mulatto Man who calls himself William Turks and who is now about forty four years of age five feet seven inches high has two large scars on the small part of his left leg one on each side has one other small scar on the end of this left Thumb has also one other small scar on his left wrist is the son of Eliz.a Turks a white woman I also certify that it appears from the record and proceedings of the said County Court that the said William Turks was sold by the Court to a certain Hugh Rice to serve until he should arrive to the age of Thirty one years when he became free In Testimony &a this 2.d of Oct 1810 JLoockerman Cl
proved to my satisfaction that the bearer hereof (a black man named Thomas Cork of the who is now about 45 years of age 5 feet 10¼ inches high has a small scar on the 2.d joint of the third finger of his left hand occasioned by a cut with a reap hook has no other notable scars) is the identical person set free by Francis Cork of the County and State afsd by manumission which was duly executed acknowledged & enrolled among the Land records of the County afsd where the said Thomas Cork was raised In Testimony &.c this 27 Oct 1812 JLoockerman Clk |
