to my satisfaction that the bearer hereof Judy Smallwood a very bright Mullatto five feet one Inch high about thirty one years of age has a notable scar on her right hand occasioned by a burn is the Identical person manumitted by William Harrison on the 29th day of May 1809 In Testimony &c (seal)
about thirty years of age five feet four inches and an half high has several scars on her left arm occasioned by burns and also has a mark on the said arm is the Identical manumitted by his Father William Harrison on the 27th day of May 1809 (seal) In Testimony &.c State of Maryland Talbot County to wit I hereby certify that Edward Needles of said County & State came and proved to my satisfaction that the bearer hereof a black woman who calls herself Henny Steel and who is now about twenty eight years of age five feet four and an half inches high dark complexion is the identical person named in a manumission from James Merchant to sundry negroes to be free from the date thereof which is the 25.th of Aug.t 1807 which said Man was duly acknowledged and recorded among the land records of the County afd where the said Henny Steel was raised In Testimony whereof &.c this 21st of July 1810 JLoockerman Cl |
