State of Maryland Talbot County to wit
                I hereby certify that Robert Dodson of the Talbot
County & state af.d came and proved to my satisfaction
that the bearer hereof Rachel Mitchel 5 feet
3½ inches high with a large scar on the inside of
her left Arm of a dark complection and now about
45 years of age is the identical person named
in a manumission from Hugh Auld Sen.r to sundry
Negroes  and that the said Rachel Mitchel was
raised in the County & State af.d    In Testimony &c
                                  this 4 of Oct.r 1809

State of M.d Talbot County to wit
           I hereby certify that James Dodson of the
county & state af.d came and proved to my satisfaction
that the bearer hereof a black Man who calls himself
James Mitchel 5 feet 8 in: high very much
pock broken with a scar near the third Joint
of the forefinger and now about 31 years of age is the
Identical person named in a manumission from
Hugh Auld Sen.r to sundry negroes & that the s.d James
Mitchell was raised in the county & state af.d

                                     this 4.th Oct.r 1809
