State of Maryland Harford County Sct:
I hereby certify that Negro Nelly the bearer hereof aged about Thirty years
has a scar upon her left knee and of a light black complexion was
manumitted by John Ashmore by deed bearing date on the Second day
of January Eighteen hundred and Twenty two and recorded among the
land records of Harford County Court
                                        In Testimony whereof I hereto Set my hand and
                                        affix the seal of my office on this Seventeenth
                                        day of June in the year of our Lord one thousand

    State of Maryland Harford County Sct:
                I hereby certify that negro Abraham the bearer hereof aged
about Thirty Five years five feet nine and three quarter inches high
has a scar upon the inner side of his left knee and quite black was
set free by John Ashmore by a deed of manumission bearing date
on the Second day of January Eighteen hundred and Twenty Three
and recorded among the Land records of Harford County Court
In testimony whereof I hereunto set my hand and affix the
Seal of my Office on this Seventeenth day of June in the year
of our Lord One thousand Eight hundred and Twenty Three

another nearly perpendicular near the left eyebro the corner of his left eye
and a small mole upon his left cheek about Five feet five inches
