99 last will and Testamt of a certain Geo Medford duly executed on the 17.th day of September 1825 and proved in my Office on the 22d day of Octr in the same year a certain negro man named George four feet six & one fourth inches in heigth complexion dark nearly approaching to black the middle finger of his left hand injured a small scar on the fore finger of his right hand and slight scar near the corner of his right Eye was manumitted and set free by the last will & Testamt of the said Geo Medford His freedom to commence on the 1.st day of Jany 1826 His person identified by a certain Wm Medford who is the Executor of the last will and Testamt of the said Geo Medford In Testimony whereof I have hereto set my name and affixed the seal of my Office this 4.th day of Jany 1826 Tho C Earle Rr Wills Queen Anns County Maryland Queen Anns County To wit whereas a certain negro man named Charles has made application to me for a certificate of freedom under an Act of the General Assembly of Maryland passed at November Session 1805 I do therefore Certify to all whom it doth or may concern that by the last will and Testamt of a certain Sarah Betton duly executed on the 20.th day of Jany 1810 and proved in my Office on the 4.th day of March 1811 a certain Negro Boy named Charles five feet five Inches in heigth of a dark complexion a slight scar on the joint of the middle finger of the left hand a small round spot about the sise of a pea nearly on the cap of his right |
