90 on the 7.th day of may 1822 a certain negro man named Tom of a dark complexion five feet six inches in height a scar just above his left eye brow the fore finger of his left hand bearing evident marks of having been injured round full face was manumitted and set free by the last will & Testament of the said Elizabeth Herrington his freedom to commence at the time of her death His person identified by Hawkins Downes to whom Letters of Administration with the will annexed of said deceased were granted and committed on the 18.th day of Jany 1823 Given under my hand and the seal of my Office this 4.th (Seal) day of April Anno Domini Eighteen hundred & twenty five Tho C Earle Rr Wills Queen Anns County State of Maryland Queen Anns County To wit Whereas a certain negro man named Abram or Abe has made application to me for a certificate of freedom under an act of the general assembly of Maryland passed at November Session 1805 I do therefore certify to all whom it doth or may concern that by the last will & Testament of a certain Arthur Emory duly executed on the 8.th day of March Eighteen hundred and seven and proved in my Office on the 7.th day of April in the Same year a certain negro man named Abram five feet eight inches in heigth complexion black good countenance a scar on the back of his left hand across the joint of the middle finger was manumitted and set free by the last will and Testament of the said Arthur Emory his freedom to commence at the expiration of eighteen years from the date of the said will.
